Overview
The Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI) Health Topics course is designed for students who want to add the Health specialism to their existing DPSI training and qualification.
On the course, you will learn the terminology and systems knowledge you need for your DPSI Health exam.

Teaching and Learning
Each week you’ll join a 2-hour live class online. In this class you can work with your course leader and other students in your group. After class, you’ll have self-study extension activities to build on your learning in the live session.
Practice and Assessment
As this is a topics only course, you will not be set formative assessments. If you would like to undertake formative assessments and receive feedback from a reviewer, you can make separate arrangements to do so.
In addition to your weekly live classes and feedback on your practice exercises, you’ll have the opportunity for one-to-one tutorials with your bilingual reviewer and your course leader. They can help you with all aspects of your learning on the course.
Completion and Qualification
On completion of your course, you can decide if you’re ready to register for all units of the Diploma in Public Service Interpreting examination. Your course leader will help you with this decision. You’ll also receive a Certificate of Completion confirming the training you have undertaken.
Requirements
To participate in the course, you need to:
- Have completed a full DPSI training course at Level 6
- Have native or near-native language proficiency in English and your Other Language (spoken and written), at CEFR level C1/C2
- Be able to commit a minimum of 8 hours per week to study and research
- Be able to use Zoom and Google Drive on a computer or tablet
- Attend an interview on Zoom with the course leader
